One small step #9 – Breathe

We all breathe. Yet most of us rarely think about HOW we breathe.

For years, breathing was simply something my body did automatically. Then I discovered something surprisingly powerful: A few intentional breaths can change how I feel within minutes.

When I'm stressed, breathing can help me calm down.

When my mind is racing, breathing can help me focus.

When my energy is depleted, breathing can help me reset.

The beautiful thing about breathwork is that it doesn't require special equipment, extra time, or perfect conditions. It's available anytime and anywhere.

One Small Step

Before your next meeting, difficult conversation, or stressful task just stop for a moment, take three slow, intentional breaths, feel the air moving in and out, notice your belly gently expanding and contracting, notice how you feel. Then continue with your day. That is it.

Three conscious breaths won't solve every problem. But they often create enough space to respond rather than react. Sometimes that's all we need.

I've found that some of the most powerful practices are also the simplest.

I've included a few of my favourite breathing techniques in the image below. You don't need to master all of them. Start with one and see what works for you.

🚀 This is one of the many stories and practices I share in my book BOOST - Energize Your Life One Small Step at a Time, which launched recently and is now available wherever books are sold.

Which breathing technique has helped you the most?
