One small step #7 – Living from vacation to vacation

Do you ever find yourself living from vacation to vacation?

Just a few more weeks. Just one more project. Just one more deadline. Then I'll rest...

I've certainly thought that way.

The problem is that when recovery becomes something we postpone, we can spend months running on empty. And when vacation finally arrives, we are often too exhausted to fully enjoy it.

What I have learned is that recovery works best when it becomes part of everyday life. Not just something reserved for weekends and vacations. In fact, some of the most effective recovery moments take less than two minutes.

After a difficult discussion. Before an important meeting. After finishing a demanding task.

One Small Step

The next time you notice your energy dropping, try this:

Stop for one minute. Take three slow breaths. Ask yourself: "What do I need right now to restore a little energy?"

You may need:

✨ a short walk

✨ a glass of water

✨ a stretch

✨ a moment of silence

✨ a conversation with someone you trust

Small moments of recovery prevent small energy deficits from becoming large ones.

Recovery is not the reward for hard work. Recovery is what makes sustainable performance possible.

🚀 This is one of the many stories and practices I share in my new book BOOST - Energize Your Life One Small Step at a Time, which is now available wherever books are sold.

How do you restore your energy after a difficult moment in your life?
